Radial PZ-DI DI box per strumenti acustici e da orchestra
Descrizione
The Radial PZ-DI is a DI box that was specially designed for amplifying acoustic and orchestra instruments. This phantom-powered device with extra headroom is a very welcome DI variety, considering that it features some very practical optimisation controls. It also has a jack input, a jack thru and an XLR output.
Setting up the impedance on the PZ-DI
The PZ-DI has an impedance switch with three different positions. The 'standard' impedance level is what we find on most DI boxes. The '220k-ohms' position ensure that magnetic pickups come through with a warmer, tube-like character. Lastly, the high '10 megohms' position is for compensating that often unpolished tone of a piezo pickup.
Further optimisation
To optimise the signal even more, Radial has equipped the PZ-DI with a variable low-cut (high-pass) filter to sift low tones out of the mix and stand up to powerful bass resonance. The hi-cut (low-pass) diminishes high tones and gives active instruments a rounder, more authentic sound. The PZ-DI also has a -15 dB pad knob, a ground lift switch and a polarity switch.

Truely excellent. I am using it with an electronic Cello and the cello has much more clarity and "woodiness" throught it. I have tried the 1M option for recording acoustic guitar and that sounded excellent too.
It's very heavy, clearly a quality product.
